Here’s Lookin’ at You, Kid

So many things have been happening lately that I’ve been quite unable to keep up on the ol’ blog. Most importantly, of course, was the visit from my family (sans Juice) for about a week. I showed them our tiny apato and all the best eating spots in Fuji. Claire was most impressed with the Indian curry spot, which also happens to be my favorite (though not Japanese). We visited Shiraito Falls, Shizuoka for shopping, Atami for the beach, and Yoshiwara for a festival before they headed up to Tokyo and Ibaraki.
In the meantime, I’ve finished a couple of books (am working on a third) and have played quite a bit of Sims 3, which was ostensibly my birthday present from my parents, but which I received 6 months late due to EA’s delayed release. Kory and I went to a new Italian place for our 3-year anniversary. Then we saw Transformers 2 at the movie theater, being the only movie in English with Japanese subtitles. I enjoyed the outing, but I can’t say I recommend the flick if you have another choice. ;)
Last night I went to Indian curry again for Girls’ Nite with 6 pals from around this side of the prefecture. The grumpy proprietor was very happy to see me bringing in yet another big group. I think this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I think it’s important to point out that Kelly never saw the first Transformers movie so her not knowing what was going on probably affected her ability to enjoy the movie. :) It’s not as good as the first one, but I still liked it. If you go, sit close to the back. There’s a lot of camera action and fast-paced movement.

And a great visit it was! We had a great time, lots of adventures, and ate a ton of food. Indian curry was delicious! — especially the nan.
Love you guys!

Hey…I’ve seen that grumpy Indian Curry guy! If you’re winning him over…you deserve a reward. You might want to think twice about taking Kerry there though. That might cause a backslide in your “friendship.”
I wish I had some of that nan right now though.

No joke - great curry place and amazing nan. Keith, the grumpy guy gave the girls key chains when we left (and told Jeff all about Kelly coming with her girlfriends), so it must be mostly a facade.

haha I didn’t like the new transformers either!! haha. granted, kory, i haven’t seen the first one either, but I got people to tell me everything and I actually think that that gives me an unbiased viewpoint of the movie, not a hindered one. ;]
